Proposing the development of advanced smart homes with external services and device platforms to create a smart urban environment

Advanced smart home users are now looking for ways to integrate not only devices, but also various third-party gadgets, information and entertainment services with their smart home. On the other hand, integration with external services and device platforms can be seen as a step towards creating a smart urban environment. In this paper, we propose the concepts of virtual devices and physical device twins to provide external services and device platforms to smart home system users.
