چکیده مقاله:

Microorganisms are too small to see with the naked eye.Microorganisms can multiply and reach millions, thus formingstructures called colonies that can be seen with the naked eye. Coloniesform images with different morphological features depending on themicroorganism and breeding environment. Microorganisms play a bigrole in the flow of life. One example is that ruminant animals can digestnutrients that monogastric animals cannot digest, thanks to themicroorganism population in their reticulum. Major ruminants arecattle, water buffalo, sheep, goats, camels, llamas, antelopes and deer. Most of the digestive activities of these animals take place in theirreticulum. Their forestomach provides the most suitable environmentfor microorganisms to grow. The chemical breakdown of feeds in theforestomach occurs thanks to enzymes secreted by microorganisms.Forestomach microorganisms enable ruminants to make better use offeed, so that feed is used in the most efficient way and microorganismscontribute to economy indirectly. In addition, microorganisms increasethe resistance of ruminants against toxins and are beneficial inproviding resistance to diseases of these animals. In this study, how toclassify microorganisms in ruminant animals by using patternrecognition techniques from colony images will be discussed.
