The existence of casting defects controls the mechanical behavior of aluminum alloys A۳۵۷. Aluminumin liquid form is prone to oxidation and hydrogen absorption. Thus, aluminum components will alwaysinclude gas porosity and oxide compounds. Furthermore, improper feeding will result in shrinkagevoids in the component, which are extremely harmful to the fatigue properties. While contraction poreshave an uneven three-dimensional form, gas pores are typically spherical. Aluminum oxide films canalso be connected to any of these two types of pores. In this study, the QC quality index was utilized toevaluate two alloys, AlMg۶ and A۳۵۷, and their substitutability with one another. This powerfulcriterion was chosen since it allows for a more accurate rating of the alloys. Based on the Qc results forthe two alloys under both minimum and maximum conditions, the AlMg۶ alloy has a much higher valueof this quality index than the A۳۵۷ alloy. As a result, replacing the AlMg۶ alloy with the A۳۵۷ alloy insensitive applications is not feasible and will carry a significant risk.
